Oct 15, 2009· Harbor Freight has a nice blade sharpener for carbide tipped saw blades and comes with two wheels which now they carry replacements for a decent price. One of the wheels is diamond for carbide and does a good job on tungsten. I reposted this a short while back. It is $59 on sale and worth it.

I returned it to HF for a full refund and purchased an ENCO 4.2KVA unit with a build in grinder (almost 4 times more powerful than the HF 1.2KVA). The cut quality and finish of a band saw blade is measured by the number of teeth per inch (TPI). The higher the TPI the better the quality but the slower the saw .
I should have noted mentioned that I silver solder my band saw blades. Can't tell you the alloy but the solder is wire about .060 in diameter and used with regular paste flux. I've been using it for years and never have broke a blade. I do use the blades on an old HF 14" work bandsaw if that matters. Soldering does eliminate the need for tempering.
