I get 3/32 or 1/8" x 1.5" and the grinder does just fine. I trace out my knife blank and then cut off excess material with the angle grinder, then move on to the belt grinder. I use the norton blaze 36 grit to shape the "blank" and make the plunge line and first 5 or so passes, and it eats the material well.
